// How we went about it
We have been working with Kidney Research UK since we started BoldLight and so were really chuffed when they decided to redevelop their website that they chose us for the task.
The charity decided to update their site with the aims of better supporting their fundraising strategy, working better to meet their supporter needs, improved user journeys through the site and a much improved mobile experience (now well over half of their traffic).
Understanding the audience
// An audience-centred approach
We started the project with several strands of research into the audiences for the site. We had previously carried out a thorough analysis of site traffic and identified the key content and where they were losing traffic. Based on this we developed a questionnaire for website users and carried out in-depth qualitative research interviews with website users. This included talking to event participants, kidney patients and nephrologists to understand the needs of all the different audiences who use the site.
// How this made a difference
The Kidney Research went live in September, so it is still early days for results. We have had lots of great feedback from the team about the new design and how easy it is to create great-looking new content pages.
